The establishment of Mushroom House (Rumah Cendawan) in Glami Lemi Biotechnology Research Center is one of UM success to commercialize mushroom production from research study to public. The program is headed by Professor Dr Noorlidah Binti Abdullah as the principal investigator focusing the production Split gills mushroom (Kukur/Sisir) either fresh or processed into food product. Schizophyllum commune (Split gills) is known to be a mushroom that exhibit many nutritious and medical properties such as antoxidant, antimicrobial, and many more. Mushroom House under UM incubator company, UM Heritage is also responsible in marketing and promoting the products to various places. Until now the Mushroom House has received numerous demand for the fresh split gills mushrooms, side product such as sambal bilis with split gills mushrooms, and mushroom bags from entire Malaysia.

The Mushroom House is also producing Oyster and Black Jelly Mushroom for local market.

Currently, this farm is being operated by a private company, Kebun Kita (wholly owned by Patriot Foods Network Sdn. Bhd.), which produces various types of mushrooms. Visit Kebun Kita for more information
